The Oculus Rift will be launch within the next few months; and Harmonix is already getting in on the action. The developer has announced that it is building Rock Band VR, which will put players in the shoes of a rock star. To help sell the idea, the company also brought in legendary rock band Dragonforce for the announcement video.
Details are thin on the game, although the announcement included some gameplay footage. It looks a lot like Rockband, but from a different point of view. A nice touch is that the guitar controller also appears in the virtual reality space, which should help reduce any dizziness problems that exist with using VR headsets.
The addition of Dragonforce and Oculus founder Palmer Luckey to the rather entertaining announcement video sells the game more than anything; even if very little gameplay was shown. There was no mention of when Rock Band VR would be released. Although, this sounds like something PlayStation should be getting in on for the PlayStation VR.
