In conjunction with Xiaomi’s Christmas sale happening later this week, the Chinese company has announced the availability of its latest pair of earphones, the Mi In Ear Headphones Pro for the Malaysian market. Featuring a unique hybrid driver design, these earphones promise to deliver exceptional audio quality for just RM79.
The latest iteration of Xiaomi’s excellent value for money Piston in-ear headphones, the Mi In Ear Headphones Pro builds on the Pistons’ success with another compelling product. Made by Xiaomi’s ecosystem partner, 1More – the same company behind the Pistons and Mi Headphones – the Mi In Ear Headphones are tuned by four-time Grammy award winning music producer, Luca Bignardi.
Not only that, the earphones are built with a hybrid driver set-up, consisting of a dynamic driver paired with a balanced armature driver. According to Xiaomi, the “bass and mid tones are kept mellow with a dynamic driver, perfect for bringing out the drums and bass”; while “the high notes for the main melody retain rich detail with a balanced armature driver”.
Also, the earphones are now significantly more premium than previous Piston earphones. The earpieces, sound chamber, volume control piece and the audio jack housing are all made of metal, while the cable is made from braided Kevlar two thirds of the way for abrasion resistance and durability.
Having tried the earphones at the Mi experiential event held yesterday, I personally found the earphones to be very comfortable because of the angled earpieces, with good sound isolation even though the earphones use silicone tips. Audio output is well suited for modern music, as there is a noticeable boost in bass. We’ll be taking a closer look in our review later on.
More importantly, these earphones again punch well above its weight, and is well worth it for the RM79 price tag. The Mi In Ear Headphones will be available in Malaysia from 10 December from the Xiaomi Malaysia website. For more information, check out the official product page.
