U Mobile has been awarded the title of fastest mobile network in Malaysia. The award was given by Ookla, a company that specialises in broadband speed testing and web-based network diagnostic applications.
U Mobile’s ranking was determined based on the data collected by Ookla’s Speedtest.net app, which is available on Android and iOS. More than five million test results were collected each day, and the data collection was done over a six-month period. Next, the data was then analysed and verified before the results were announced.
Wong Heang Tuck, Chief Executive Officer of U Mobile, has said that:
Most recently, Ookla recognised U Mobile as having the fastest mobile network in Malaysia. It is testament that we are indeed providing the best mobile customer experience possible to all Malaysians.
To celebrate this, U Mobile announced its Year End Promo, where it is giving free 1GB data to all existing and new U Mobile subscribers. Existing users will automatically receive the free mobile data quota in their data plan, while new users will automatically get it upon registration. Do note that the free 1GB mobile data is not permanent, and it will only last for one month. The promotion is valid until the 31st of December 2015.
