Announced back at IFA 2015 a few months ago, the second generation Motorola Moto 360 is one of the most sleek-looking Android Wear devices. Now, we have good reason to believe that it will be officially launched here in Malaysia soon.
While going through SIRIM’s database, we notice that Lenovo Technology registered two new devices labelled as watches: 360S and 360L. Chances are, these are 2015’s iterations of the Moto 360 smartwatch, seeing how the S and L should represent the two sizes of the second generation wearable.
In terms of specification, the 2015 Moto 360 is an improvement over the original model in many ways. For one, it comes in two sizes now: 46mm and 42mm. The bigger model has a 1.54-inch 360 x 330 LCD display and a 400mAh battery, while the smaller 42mm variant has a 1.37-inch 360 x 325 panel as well as a 300mAh battery.
Other than that, the new Moto 360 has a much more capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor (the first generation wearable has an ancient TI OMAP 3 chipset) paired with 512MB of RAM. It also has 4GB of internal storage, a heart rate sensor, and a new lug design for easier swapping of bands.
Android Wear devices are rarely officially available here, unfortunately. Hopefully, Lenovo Malaysia will launch the new Moto 360 locally soon to change this.
