Lenovo has just launched 18 products today, which includes the Yoga 900, MIIX 700, a new gaming laptop, and Yoga tablets, just to name a few. The company has refreshed most of its existing products with Intel’s latest 6th generation Skylake processors, and they are now ready for the Malaysian market.
First, we have the Yoga 900, which is a convertible laptop that can be fitted with up to 6th generation Core i7 Skylake processor. Not only that, it can also be packed with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. The device features a 13.3-inch QHD+ IPS display, which has a resolution of 3200 x 1800 and a maximum brightness level of 300 nits. Being only 14.9mm thick and weighing 1.29kg, the Yoga 900 does not have a dedicated graphics card. Hence, it uses Intel’s integrated HD graphics. It has a 1MP HD camera on the front and comes complete with a Dolby-certified JBL stereo speaker system. No word yet on how much it will cost in Malaysia, but it will be available here in January next year.
Next, we have the Lenovo MIIX 700, which runs on a 6th generation Intel Core m7 processor that can be paired with up to 8GB of RAM. The MIIX 700 can also be fitted with up to 256GB of SSD storage. It features a 12-inch full HD+ display which has a resolution of 2160 x 1440 and a maximum brightness level of 300 nits. A 5MP shooter can be found on the front while the camera on the back is an Intel RealSense 5MP 3D camera. The MIIX 700 has a thickness of 8.95mm and weighs 780g. Just like the Yoga 900, pricing information for the MIIX 700 has yet to be revealed as well, but it will be available for purchase in January 2016.
Lenovo has also refreshed its IdeaPad series of laptops, particularly the Ideapad 500 (Z51). The laptop can be equipped with up to a Core i7 Skylake processor, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon R7 M360 (4GB DDR3) graphics card. It has a 15.6-inch full HD anti-glare screen, as well as 1TB of internal hard disk storage space. The company has also fitted a 1MP Intel RealSense 3D camera on the front. That being said, the RealSense camera can only be found on the 15-inch model. In terms of dimensions, it measures 24.6mm thick and weighs a pretty hefty 2.3KG. The Lenovo IdeaPad 500 is now available for RM3,499.
Besides that, the company introduced a new IdeaPad called the 100S. It comes in two variants – 11-inch and 14-inch. The 11-inch model runs on an Intel Atom Z3735F quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of EMMC internal storage. It features an 11.6-inch HD screen and Dolby-certified stereo speakers. It weighs 1kg and comes in three colour options – blue, silver and red. Boasting up to seven hours of battery life, the Lenovo IdeaPad 100S is now available for a retail price of RM799.
On the other hand, the 14-inch model runs on an Intel Celeron N3050 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage. It features Intel’s integrated graphics and comes complete with a stereo speaker system certified by Dolby. The laptop weighs 1.5kg and will be available in silver and red. It will be sold this month at a starting price of RM1,299.
That’s not all, Lenovo also updated its All-in-One PCs, specifically the IdeaCentre AIO 700 series. It will come in two sizes – full HD 24-inch and ultra HD 27-inch. The IdeaCentre AIO 700 series can be equipped with up to a Core i7-6700 processor and 16GB DDR4 RAM. Graphics wise, it runs on an Nvidia GeForce GTX 950A graphics card which has 2GB of VRAM. As for storage, it can be packed with up to a 2TB HDD. The company has made the Intel RealSense 3D camera optional, so that customers can choose whether or not they need it. Instead of the Dolby-certified speakers, the company decided to integrate JBL stereo speakers in the IdeaCentre AIO. The 24-inch model will have a starting price of RM3,699 while the 27-inch will be sold from RM6,999.
Lenovo has also made a lower-end all-in-one that utilises a 6th generation Core i5 processor. Called the IdeaCentre AIO 300, it runs on an Nvidia GeForce GT920A 2GB graphics card and up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM. It has the same full HD display as the 24-inch model AIO 700, and can be packed with up to a 2TB HDD. It weighs in at 8.46KG and will retail from RM2,699.
These are all the laptops that Lenovo has refreshed and introduced with Intel’s 6th generation Skylake processor. The specifications definitely do impress, but the pricing does not seem to be similar to how Lenovo usually price its devices in the past. A company representative has mentioned that it is to appeal to different types of customers.
