You get into a relationship, share about it on Facebook and upload romantic photos of you and your significant other. Fast forward to a few moments later, you are no longer partners. What other ways can you not see updates about your former partner on Facebook besides just unfriending them on the social platform?
Facebook understands this dilemma and recently it announced that it is testing a new feature. The new feature now allows users to see less of your former partner’s name and profile picture without having to unfriend or (more commonly) block him or her.
This feature will be presented to users that changes their relationship status to single; Facebook’s mobile app will prompt a user to try out its new feature. In addition to not seeing a former partner’s name and profile picture, the new feature will make sure that their recent posts won’t show up in the news feed and their name won’t be suggested when tagging friend’s in a photo.
Another interesting feature is that Facebook will also give you the option to limit what your former partner see from your Facebook updates. Besides that, the new feature also includes removing yourself from a tag on a photo or a post by your former lover. Unfortunately, this feature is currently being tested only in the US on Facebook’s mobile app. Fellow heartbroken Facebook users in Malaysia will have to find other alternatives for now.
