Local telco Maxis is now offering the Huawei G8 on Zerolution for a low monthly rate of RM107. Announced at IFA 2015 and launched in Malaysia weeks ago, the G8 has a fingerprint sensor. It is a more affordable mid-range device compared to the Huawei Mate S that was unveiled at the same time.
Zerolution is a service that lets users bring home a device with zero upfront payment, zero contract, and “zero 24 month contract”. For the Huawei G8’s Zerolution price of RM107 a month, it is broken down into RM48/month for the rental of the device, RM44/month to ensure you get a new phone every year, and RM15 as an insurance to protect your phone (screen cracks, accidental damage and even theft).
The Huawei G8 has a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display and it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 paired with 3GB of RAM. The device has 32GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot that supports storage expansion of up to 64GB. On the back, there is a 13MP camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) with the fingerprint sensor right below it. As for the front, a 5MP camera will be in charge for those selfie moments.
Powering the Huawei G8 is a 3,000mAh battery and it runs on Emotion UI 3.1, which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Not only that, the device also supports dual SIM cards and dual 4G capability.
The Huawei G8 retails in Malaysia for RM1,499. Those interested to get the phone on Zerolution can head on to the device’s page on Maxis’ site.
