If you’re an aspiring content creator, you’d want to check out Made for YouTube. Launched in collaboration with Google and Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), this campaign is meant to help local content creators get started on their career.
Made for YouTube’s objective is to accelerate the growth of local talents in the digital media sector. With YouTube being such a huge platform now, it’s easily an area with a lot of growth potential. After all, the most subscribed individual on the platform, PewDiePie, made US$7.4 million (about RM32 million) in 2014 alone.
Those who are part of the campaign will be assisted by MDeC and Google in various ways. These include access to production facilities such as the Malaysia Animation Creative Content Centre (MAC3), funding development, coaching sessions and workshops, as well as dedicated mampower via drect contact with YouTube Account Manager.
Needless to say, Made for YouTube has the potential to help local talents realise their fullest potential. While there are several local YouTubers who have managed to attract a huge following, it’s always good to see more Malaysians succeed on the platform. If you’re interested to apply for this campaign, you can do so by sending an email to clic@mdec.com.my.
