Anonymous has declared war against the Islamic State following the devastating attacks in Paris, Beirut, and Kenya. The hacktivist group has pledged to hunt down every single supporter of the group online. It has also released a massive list of over 900 Twitter accounts run by Islamic State supporters.
Those who have been following the activities of Anonymous will not be surprised to hear the group declare war on the Islamic State. The same statement was issued shortly after the Charlie Hebdo massacre in January; where the hacktivists began patrolling French social media to cripple recruitment efforts by the terrorist group.

“War is declared. Get prepared,” the group said in a French video statement. “The French people are stronger than you and will come out of this atrocity even stronger.”
It is unknown what kind of impact Anonymous has had on Islamic State abilities. The terrorist organisation is notorious for its tech savvy approach to recruitment, and heavily relies on social media to attract new members to its cause. At this moment, every little bit helps against the mounting difficulties in containing the terrorists; and with any luck #OpISIS will limit the spread of the propaganda across the globe.
