Dota 2 fans will soon have the chance of witnessing 16 of the best Dota 2 teams in the world gather to compete for a total prize pool of $3 million (about RM13.2 million). All this will start today till the 21st of November 2015 and the broadcast will be fully available in high definition on Astro’s Supersport channel as well as Astro on the Go.
Other than The Internationals, also known as ‘Summer Major’, Valve has introduced three new publisher-sponsored Major tournaments throughout each season of the year to keep teams on their feet. Frankfurt Major will be the ‘Fall Major’ and it will be taking place in Festhall Messe – a multi-purpose hall in none other than Frankfurt, Germany.
All teams have been placed into their respective groups and the full match schedule can be found below:
All matches will start at 5.30pm Malaysian time, and the LIVE broadcast will be free to all Astro subscribers on the SuperSport Plus Channel 808 as well as Astro on the Go. Anyone can watch The Frankfurt Major on Astro on the Go by choosing the LIVE TV tab. Other than that, those interested can also access AOTG via the official webpage or the mobile app.
It seems the world of eSports in Malaysia will only get bigger now that Astro is becoming a dedicated eSports broadcaster. From The Internationals, to the League of Legends Worlds Championship, Hearthstone, Starcraft and now the Frankfurt Majors. Could we see a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive major tournament coming to our TV screens as well?
