If you fancy Samsung’s latest smartwatch, the Gear S2, it’s time to mark your calendar. The Korean company’s latest wearable will be available for pre-order from 20 to 23 November 2015 at 20% off; you can save up to RM489.
Teased several months ago at Samsung’s unpacked event, the Gear S2 was officially unveiled right before IFA 2015. As the successor to the sizeable Gear S, the S2 now features a circular display and a much, much more elegant design. In comparison to its predecessor, the S2 looks every bit like a traditional wristwatch, which is a very good thing.
One particularly unique feature of the Gear S2 is its rotatable bezel, which works as an alternative input method to the touch display. Complementing these two elements are a back and a home button, which makes this smartwatch a pretty intuitive device to navigate.
As a Tizen-based smartwatch, the Gear S2 can now be paired with non-Samsung Android devices, which is a first for the company. In the past, only Samsung devices can be connected to its smartwatch, which significantly narrows down the target audience.

Other specifications of the Gear S2 are a sharp 1.2-inch 360 x 360 circular Super AMOLED touch display, a 1.0GHz dual-core processor paired with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of built-in storage, and a modest 250mAh battery that is claimed to provide up to two to three days of battery life.
Two variants of the Samsung Gear S2 will be available in Malaysia: the standard model and the more masculine-looking Gear S2 classic, which will go for RM1,399 and RM1,599 respectively. The first 500 units of these two smartwatches will be sold at 20% off from the 20th of November to the 23rd here; a wireless charging dock worth RM169 will also be given for free. The Gear S2 and S2 classic will officially go on sale on 27th November 2015.
