MSI has launched the GS40 Phantom in Malaysia. As a light and portable gaming laptop, the GS40 goes head-to-head with the Razer Blade as well as the Aorus X3 Plus. Looking at the GS40’s hardware, it’s pretty well-equipped as well.
Powering the GS40 is the all-new Skylake-based Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor paired with 16GB of DDR4 RAM; this gaming laptop has some serious processing power. Other specifications of the GS40 include a 14-inch 1080p anti-glare IPS display, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M graphics card, a 256GB PCIe-based SSD coupled with a 1TB HDD, and Windows 10 installed out of the box.
All of these hardware are packed into a 22.8mm thin laptop, which weighs about 1.6kg. Needless to say, this makes the GS40 a gaming laptop you wouldn’t mind carrying in your backpack, which can be important to certain consumers.
Launched alongside the MSI GS40 are several other refreshed laptops from the company. These include the limited edition Heroes of the Storm GT72 and its regular variant, the GE62/GE72 Apache Pro, as well as the GS70 Stealth and GS60 Ghost. These laptops are now all powered by sixth generation Intel Core processors along with DDR4 RAM.
The MSI GS40 Phantom will retail at RM8,999 in Malaysia. This laptop, along with the aforementioned products, are now available for purchase.
