If you’re looking for a small and portable gaming laptop equipped with a Skylake processor, good news; Dell has refreshed the Alienware 13 gaming laptop in Malaysia with the new chipset.
Unlike other Alienware laptops, the 13 is for gamers who want something more portable than conventional gaming laptops, which are often unwieldy and heavy. Weighing about 2kg, the Alienware 13 – as its name suggests – has a 13.3-inch IPS display, which makes it a reasonably compact laptop. Users have the option to go with a 1080p anti-glare panel (which the base model is equipped with) or a sharper 3200 x 1800 QHD+ IGZO touchscreen display.
Other specifications of the Alienware 13 include a sixth-generation Intel Core i7-6500U dual-core processor paired with 8GB of DDR3L RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M graphics card, a 500GB SSHD or a 256GB PCIe SSD, and Windows 10 out of the box. Interestingly, Dell claims that the Alienware 13 has up to 10.5 hours of battery life, even for the QHD+ model. This laptop is also compatible with the Alienware Graphics Amplifier, giving it the power of a desktop-grade graphics card.
The Alienware 13 will retail at RM5,899 and RM7,299 for the 500GB SSHD and 256GB SSD models respectively. Considering the higher-end model has a sharper touchscreen display and a fast PCIe SSD, the rather big price difference is somewhat reasonable.
