If you are one of those who think Xiaomi’s 16,000mAh Mi Power Bank is still not large enough, the Chinese company now has the perfect product for you. The new 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank will debut in the company’s massive “Double 11” sales in China later this week.
The most distinctive difference that can be seen from the image above is in the design: Xiaomi has introduced a new design for the 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank that makes it grippier and more scratch-resistant – and it’s now made from a mix of polycarbonate and ABS plastic. And, like the 16,000mAh Mi Power Bank, it also has two USB output ports, letting you charge two devices at once (or plug one of Xiaomi’s USB-powered peripherals).
More importantly, this is the first Mi Power Bank that supports 9V/2A charging, allowing it to charge devices faster than conventional 5V/2A power banks and chargers. It also has a maximum single-port output of 3.6A, letting you charge…the new MacBook, using a USB Type-C converter, of course.
Like other Mi Power Banks, the 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank features a nine-layer circuit protection developed by Texas Instruments, which not only protects the LG-made batteries, but also makes them more efficient in charging and discharging.
Xiaomi is also proud of the fact that the 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank is relatively light, despite the high-capacity charge. It weighs 338g, which is lighter than two 10,000mAh Mi Power Bank and more impressively it is also slightly lighter than the current 16,000mAh Mi Power Bank, which weighs 350g.
The 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank will retail for 149 Yuan (about RM102), and sales will start from 11 November in China.
