Xiaomi has introduced the company’s latest addition to its lineup of audio products. Called the Xiaomi Hybrid Earphones, it’s a pair of earphone that features the combination of one dynamic and two balanced-armature drivers.
The Xiaomi Hybrid Earphones was designed by, 1More, a startup that consists of ex-Foxconn executives. The earphones boasts on its drivers that will offer sounds with ultra low distortion, accurate mids as well as crystal-clear high notes. Not to mention, the earphones are made from Kevlar, ensuring its durability.
Balanced-armature drivers use the same components as dynamic drivers, and the difference is in how the audio is produced. The dynamic drivers in Xiaomi’s earphone will handle low-frequency sounds while the two-way balanced-armature drivers will be handling high-frequency sound. Thus, creating a more natural 3D surround effect.
In addition, the audio has been professionally fine-tuned by Luca Bignardi, a sound engineer who has won several Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards. Other than that, the microphone has a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 58dB. This gives better noise cancellation, which also means better call quality.
The Xiaomi Hybrid Earphones weighs 14g and the audio cable measure 1.25m. The earphones are also equipped with a remote that is on the audio cable itself. It is available only in Metallic Silver and a set of 3 ear-buds (XS,S,L) will be included. It will be sold for 99 Yuan (about RM68).
