Recently, a torture test performed on the Nexus 6P has become rather viral. In the video, the 6P was subjected to scratch, fire, and of course, bend tests. Surprisingly, the device was able to be bent rather easily; almost too easy. Is the Nexus 6P that fragile? Well, not quite.
Pay attention to the video below by YouTuber JerryRigEverything. After scratching his unit of the Nexus 6P, he promptly took a lighter to the display before ending the test by trying to bend the device. Just see how effortless it was to bend the 6P around the 2.55 mark:
Now, it shouldn’t be that easy to bend any device; even the iPhone 6 Plus took some effort to be bent. Chances are, the prior tests – especially the fire one – weakened the device enough for it to be bent so easily. After the video above was posted, more bend tests of the Nexus 6P have been uploaded. Here are a couple of videos showing how hard it is to actually bend the 6P (without subjecting it to some heat beforehand):

Judging by these two videos, the Nexus 6P definitely does not bend as easily as it did in the first video. If you’re on the fence about getting Google’s latest and greatest Android device because of this “issue,” don’t be; it should be able to withstand a reasonable amount of force.
