After a week or so of teasing the arrival of the SmartWatch 3 in Malaysia, Sony has officially launched it here. While it may have taken the company over a year to bring the SmartWatch 3 into Malaysia, it’s better late than never.
Although the Smartwatch 3 has been on the market for quite some time now, it still doesn’t have a successor, which means it is still Sony’s latest Android Wear offering. Unlike most of its competition today, the SmartWatch 3 has a 1.6-inch 320 x 320 square display, giving it the appearance of a more “traditional” smartwatch.
Other specifications of the SmartWatch 3 include a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, a water resistance rating of IP68, and a 420mAh battery. It also has GPS capability, a feature that isn’t found on many Android Wear devices.
The Sony SmartWatch is now available for purchase at all authorised Sony Store and selected Sony Centres in Malaysia. The standard black variant will go for RM1,099, while the more premium Silver Metal model is set at RM1,399. There are also two straps available for purchase separately, which are the Sport Strap (in lime) and a pink Colour Strap. If you’d like to learn more about the SmartWatch 3, you can do so here.
