Google is holding a free online conference for educators early next month. Called Google Education on Air Malaysia 2015, it will aid Malaysian educators understand and adopt technology better by sharing some of the latest educational techniques.
Education on Air will take place next Sunday from 9.00am to 4.00pm and feature over 50 speakers and panelists. Headlining the event are Malaysian Deputy Minister of Education YB P. Kamalanathan and Google Malaysia’s Managing Director Sajith Sivanandan. Other guests include BFM Radio founder Malek Ali, Kim Say Chun ( a computer science student from UKM), and headmaster of SJKC Choong, Wen Wong Shee Fatt.
The speakers will share their views and ideas on how they have transformed their classrooms with Google Apps for Education and Frog Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). As well as presenting practical lessons on topics like collaboration and community, empowering students, professional development, and feedback and assessment for others to consider.
Viewers tuning into the hangout will be able to ask questions, which will be answered live. They may also submit questions for answering at a later date. Google will also be recording the entire seven hour conference and all registered participants will be able to view it at their leisure. Participants will also be eligible to receive a digital ‘certificate of participation’.
As a Google Hangout, the entire conference will take place online; and everyone is welcome to register to watch it.
