Several users of the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact have reported an issue with the device’s touch screen. Apparently, the Z5 Compact has difficulty registering touch inputs; it even registers multiple inputs when only one command was given. Now, Sony has acknowledged the problem, and it will be releasing a fix next week.
Oddly enough, this particular issue is only present on white models of the Xperia Z5 Compact. While Sony did not clarify what is causing the issue, the company said it will be releasing a software “to improve the user experience.” This could mean the issue is caused by a software bug, although it’s odd as to why other colours of the Z5 Compact are not affected.
If you do happen to have a Xperia Z5 Compact right now (despite the fact that it’s not officially available in Malaysia yet), all you have to do is install Sony’s support software PC Companion – which is for Windows – or Bridge for Mac. The software update will be rolled out on Week 44, which starts on 26th October 2015.
The Sony Xperia Z5 series is set to be released on the 29th of October in Malaysia. All three models of the Z5 family – Z5 Premium, Z5 and Z5 Compact – should be launched on that day.
