The Sony SmartWatch 3 has been announced for well over a year now, but that doesn’t mean Sony won’t be bringing its Android Wear device to Malaysia. Sony Malaysia has just posted a rather interesting teaser on its Facebook page, which indicates that the SmartWatch 3 will be arriving in Malaysia soon.
While the SmartWatch 3 was unveiled back in September 2014, the stainless steel variant – which was featured in Sony Malaysia’s Facebook post – was actually shown off at CES 2015 earlier this year. A quick check on Sony Mobile Malaysia’s website revealed that the leather and rubber strap variants of the SmartWatch 3 are also persent there, which could mean that all three strap variants will be made available here.
In terms of specification, the SmartWatch 3 has a 1.6-inch 320 x 320 resolution transflective display (which is said to be legible even under bright sunlight), a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a 420mAh battery, and a water resistance rating of IP68. Interestingly, the SmartWatch 3 also has a GPS chip, a feature that isn’t found on many Android Wear devices.
The Sony SmartWatch 3’s retail price and availability in Malaysia have not been announced yet. However, seeing how Sony Malaysia has already teased the wearable’s imminent arrival on our shores, these information should be revealed soon.
