Lenovo has announced a refresh to its Yoga line of convertible laptops, and it is no longer bothering with underpowered Intel Core M processors. The new Lenovo Yoga 900 now packs sixth generation Intel Core i processors; which is a much welcome change to the laptop series.
Everything else has also been turned up for the Yoga 900, with RAM options now going all the way up to 16GB; and storage options now start from a 256GB SSD. There are also plans for a 512GB storage option, but Lenovo has not revealed if this will be available at launch. Customers will be able to choose between a sixth generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor; which will provide so much more power than the Intel Core M of its predecessor.
Lenovo’s iconic watchband hinge remains, and it looks as good as ever. Also returning is the 3,200 x 1,800 IPS display along with the JBL speakers.
The extra processing power has not had a negative impact on battery life, with Lenovo now promising up to nine hours of power. However, beefing up the internals has increased the weight of the Yoga 900. It now weighs in at 1.29kg.
The new Lenovo Yoga 900 starts at U.S. $1,199.99 (about RM5100), and comes in the traditional Yoga variety of colours: clementine orange, platinum silver and champagne gold. It will be available for sale beginning in October.
