Not long after Dell officially unveiled the XPS 15, it is now launched in Malaysia. With the most affordable model going for RM6,699, this laptop commands a pretty hefty price tag. That being said, even the base model is packed with an extremely sharp 4K InfinityEdge touch display, along with very capable processor and graphics card.
Dell’s XPS lineup of laptops are all about offering the best user experience to consumers, which explains the premium price tag. With that kind of money, you’re also getting an equally premium laptop. The XPS 15’s chassis is made out of CNC machined aluminium, and it has a carbon fibre palm rest with soft touch paint, just like the XPS 13. Dell also claims that the XPS 15 is the smallest 15-inch laptop on the market.
In terms of specification, the XPS 15 in Malaysia only comes with a 15.6-inch 4K touch display, which explains the rather high starting price of RM6,699. The base model is equipped with a Skylake-based Intel Core i5-6300HQ processor paired with 8GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M, and a 1TB SSHD. The highest-end model, which goes for RM8,499, is equipped with a beefier Core i7-6700HQ processor paired with 16GB of RAM, and a very fast 256GB PCIe SSD.
Other than announcing the arrival of the XPS 15 in Malaysia, Dell also refreshed several of its other products with Skylake processors. These include the XPS 13, Inspiron 15 7000 range of laptops, Inspiron 24 7000 AIOs, and Vostro 14 5000 series of laptops.
The Dell XPS 15 will be available in Malaysia from the middle of October onwards – only the highest-end model for now, unfortunately – on Dell’s online store. There is no tentative date on when the base model will be arriving in Malaysia.
