At the on-going Microsoft event, the company just took the curtains off a brand new Microsoft Band with improved design and features.
Made for people who want to “live better and achieve more with life”, the new Microsoft Band features a new design that is suitable for those who go to work, and for those who enjoy a good workout. It has a new band made with breathable material with no rigid parts, as well as a new curved Gorilla Glass display that makes it comfortable enough to fit around your wrist for the whole day.
On the inside, the new Microsoft Band can still do all it did before. It can track your activities and sleep, and display all those information in a very detailed breakdown in the Microsoft Health app, giving instant update so you can track all the information. Together with the built-in heart rate sensor, you can easily track your health at a glance.
On top of that, Microsoft also added a new 11th sensor on the new Band – a Barometer. This means that the new Band can now track elevations, so whether you’re out biking, hiking, or simply walking up the stairs, the new Microsoft Band can track everything, and yes, it can track your golfing activities too and give you a breakdown on how well you performed in the game.
In addition to that, the new Microsoft Band also supports notifications, so you don’t have to take your phone out of your pockets just to see the message – preview emails, text messages, and get calendar notifications right on your wrist.
Just like before, the Microsoft Band can be used together with Microsoft Devices, as well as Android and iOS devices. Microsoft also partnered up with other companies to make the Band more useful than ever. You can share your activity data with your favourite fitness apps, and get access to experiences developed with premier sports and lifestyle brands.
The preorder for the new Microsoft Band begins today for US$249 (about RM1,081), and will be shipped on 30 October 2015.
