Back in IFA 2015, Malaysia wasn’t set to be one of the first markets to receive the Huawei Watch. Now, however, it has appeared on SIRIM, suggesting that it could be arriving on our shores very soon. Will it be launched alongside the Huawei Mate S this month?
When the Mate S was officially unveiled, Huawei mentioned that the new flagship will be made available in Malaysia by the end of September. However, seeing how it’s almost the end of the month already, we could be looking at an October launch for it. It wouldn’t be far-fetched to expect the Huawei Watch to be introduced alongside the Mate S as well.
Design-wise, the Huawei Watch is one of the best looking Android Wear devices in the market now. What makes it truly eye-catching is perhaps the fact that its 1.4-inch 400 x 400 resolution circular AMOLED display is protected by a sapphire crystal. There’s hardly any other Android Wear devices that feature this highly scratch-resistant material.
Rounding out the specifications of the Huawei Watch are a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor paired with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a 300mAh battery, and a heart rate sensor. The Huawei Watch can also be paired with an Android or iOS device.
In terms of pricing, the most affordable variant of the Huawei Watch goes for 399 euro (about RM1,950), which features a leather band and a stainless steel case. The most expensive model comes with a rose gold-plated stainless steel case and a leather band for 699 euro (approximately RM3,415).
