For a long time now, luxury smartphones have always been equipped with less than impressive specs. Even when luxury phone makers did catch up, they were always a step behind mainstream smartphone makers like Samsung and LG, but it looks like all is about to change. Vertu recently launched the Signature Touch, that is equipped the latest and greatest hardware available in the market now.
Like all Vertu devices, the Signature Touch is designed with only premium material. The exterior is made with leather, with a large selection for you to pick from – Jet Calf, Garnet Calf, Grape Lizard, Pure Jet Lizard, Jet Alligator, Pure navy Alligator, Clous De Paris Alligator, and Pure Jet Gold.
Specifications wise, the new Signature Touch features a 5.2” Full HD display, a scratcproof, 130 carat, 5th generation Sapphire Crystal. On the inside, the device is powered by none other than a Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage – yes, there’s microSD slot on board too that supports cards up to 2TB.
As for the camera, Vertu is also packing the best, the back has a 21MP f/2.2 shooter with phase detection autofocus and dual-tone LED flash. The front on the other hand has a 2.1MP shooter. Other specs include high-fidelity speakers with Dolby Digital Plus, 3160mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0, LTE, NFC+, and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
As for the price, the new Signature Touch will be available in mid-October with price ranging from £6,500 to £13,700 (from RM43,396 to RM91,466). The price of course comes with the usual concierge services provided by Vertu, free for 18 months.
