Just announced earlier this month, a slew of Apple products have already been registered on SIRIM. These include the new iPad Mini 4 (both cellular and WiFi variants), Apple TV, and of course, the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Oddly enough, the iPad Pro is nowhere to be found.
The most interesting devices of the bunch are obviously the new iPhones. Featuring an improved A9 processor and double the RAM size of their predecessors (2GB now instead of 1GB), one of the main highlights of the 6S and 6S Plus is the addition of 3D Touch. As its name suggests, this new feature can detect how much pressure a user is exerting on the screen, giving them a whole new layer of controls to play with.
Highlighted: the Apple iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.
Other new additions to the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are a 12MP rear camera (their predecessors had an 8MP sensor), a 5MP front-facing shooter, and 4K recording capability. As for the display, nothing has changed; the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus still have a 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch display respectively.
If we were to go by previous years’ availability of these Apple products in Malaysia, they should be reaching our shores by November. After all, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were available for purchase on the first week of November itself last year. Expect our local telcos to unveil their plans for the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus around the same time as well – it was the case with their predecessors.
If you’re curious as to how much the new iPhones will cost in Malaysia, check out our price prediction. We have also compared them against other 2015 flagship devices.
