The specifications of the Huawei Nexus have possibly been confirmed thanks to benchmark results from GFXBench. Unlike its smaller sibling, the 2015 Nexus 5, this Nexus device from Huawei will pack a bigger and sharper 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 resolution display.
Other than that, the Huawei Nexus also has a rather interesting processor under its hood: the Snapdragon 810. Even though the chipset has been the subject of many controversies, it’s odd as to why Huawei (or Google) still decided to go with this processor – although it is Qualcomm’s best offering for now. Perhaps the overheating issues have been worked out one way or another.
Choice of processor aside, the Huawei Nexus also has 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 12MP rear camera, an 8MP front-facing shooter, and of course, Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. In comparison to the 2015 Nexus 5, this device is a beefier offering. It’s possible that it will go for a higher retail price than the former.
Google is said to be unveiling the Huawei Nexus and 2015 LG Nexus 5 (or 5X) on the 29th of September. They could go on sale as early as two weeks after the announcement on the 13th of October. No word yet on how much these Nexus devices will retail at.
