If you’re an iCloud user, rejoice; Apple has revised its pricing structure. Users can now enjoy much more storage for the same amount of money. Before this, iCloud only offers 20GB of storage for US$0.99 a month. Now, users will get 50GB of storage for the same price; that’s more than double the size.
With the introduction of the new pricing, the 500GB plan is now missing. Instead, it’s replaced by the 1TB plan for the same price (US$9.99 instead of U$19.99). Other than that, the 200GB plan is now going for only US$2.99 instead of US$3.99. Based on these, the 1TB plan sees the most price cut.
Users who have signed up for iCloud will be given 5GB of data for free, but if this isn’t enough, they’ll just have to pay to get more data. With this new pricing structure, it should give free users more incentive to sign up for more storage, although there are other alternatives to iCloud on the market.
Seeing how the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are still offered with 16GB of storage, cloud storage services such as iCloud are more relevant than ever. Maybe that’s exactly why the 16GB variant is not phased out yet.
