Of course, Apple didn’t forget to include Apple Watch in its special event earlier today. In fact, the company kick started the event with the device but unlike the new iPad Pro, Apple TV, iPhone 6s, and iPhone 6s Plus, the Apple Watch part of the event was rather underwhelmed even though it does include the upcoming watchOS 2.
This might be due to the fact that Apple has talked a lot about watchOS 2 during WWDC few months ago. Frankly speaking, the most significant portion of Apple Watch segment during the event was the announcement of watchOS 2’s release date for Apple Watch’s owners.

If you are one of them, expect to see the new operating system to be available for your device on 16 September. Among new things that users able to expect from this update are new watch face customization options through Photo, Photo Album, and Time-Lapse as well as Time Travel which allows users to explore future events in calendar via the watch’s Digital Crown.
Meanwhile, Apple has also announced that anodized aluminum variant of Apple Watch Sport is now available in gold and rose gold which are paired with antique white, midnight blue, stone, and lavender. Additionally, the silver aluminum version now comes with new orange or blue colored Sport Bands.
The stainless steel variant of Apple Watch also receives additional band option including saddle brown and black Classic Buckle while the space black-colored variant can now be obtained with a black Sport Band. Users can also obtained the (PRODUCT)RED version of the device which is paired with a match Sport Band in which a portion of the proceeds will benefit The Global Fund’s effort to end AIDS.
For those who prefer the more luxurious Apple Watch Edition, they can now choose to have it with an 18-karat gold case that is paired with a midnight blue Classic Buckle. Since the Watch Edition has a rather hefty asking price of USD 10,000 (RM 43,395) onwards, users can opt for the slightly “affordable” Apple Watch Hermès collection that starts at USD 1,100 (about RM 4,774) instead which are available in several styles including Single Tour, Double Tour, and Cuff.
With the exception of Apple Watch Hermès collection which will only be released on 5 October, these new options will be available within this week. If you are interested in one, you need to get it outside of Malaysia though as there is still no news regarding Apple Watch’s official release in Malaysia despite it being listed at SIRIM’s database under Apple Malaysia’s name.
