If the recently unveiled Huawei Mate S is priced too high for you, you might want to check out the more affordable Huawei G8. As the successor to the Huawei G7, it has several noteworthy upgrades, such as a 13MP rear camera with optical image stabilisation and a higher-end processor. Just like the Mate S, it is set to arrive in Malaysia this month as well.
Compared to its predecessor, the Huawei G8 is a completely different beast. It now has a higher resolution 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display, a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot (supports cards up to 64GB), and a fingerprint sensor similar to the Huawei Mate S.
One of the most interesting features of the new Huawei G8 is its 13MP rear camera with optical image stabilisation. Its front-facing camera, on the other hand, has a 5MP sensor. Rounding out the specifications are a generous 3,000mAh battery, dual-SIM support, dual 4G capability, and Emotion UI 3.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
As for the Huawei G8’s availability, it will be made available in Malaysia sometime this month, which is pretty quick of Huawei. In Europe, it will go for 399 euro (about RM1,895). No word yet on the local pricing of this device.
