Acer certainly came to IFA this year with plenty of products in their pocket but not all of them have a release date at the moment. One such example is the new Jade Primo smartphone which runs on Windows 10 Mobile and fondly referred to as the company’s first ever “PC Phone”.
Thanks to that reference, Acer clearly didn’t hide the fact that it going to take Continuum feature in Windows 10 for Mobile as the main selling point for Jade Primo. Furthermore, the company is going to release the smartphone together with a dock, wireless keyboard, and wireless mouse right in the box.
For those who are not familiar with this particular feature, Continuum for Phones allow a Windows 10 phone to function just like a desktop PC when hooked to a TV or monitor. Microsoft have demonstrated this feature from time to time but this is indeed the first time we’ve seen Continuum for Phones being shown on a non-Microsoft Windows 10 phone.
During the presentation at IFA, Acer did revealed some of the components within Jade Primo which include the 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 100% NTSC color gamut, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 21-megapixels rear camera with dual LED flash, and 8-megapixels front camera. As we mentioned earlier though, there are no price or release date for this new device.
However, it is nothing out of norm though as the Windows 10 for phones itself has not set release date at the moment. Nevertheless, at least we now know how Acer is going to market the new smartphone to consumers out there.
