Acer has announced a refresh of its Aspire V Nitro line for the end of 2015. These new versions of the Aspire V 13, Aspire V Nitro 15-, and 17-inch all feature the new Intel Skylake processors, while the “Black Edition” will also feature support for Intel’s new Thunderbolt 3 technology.
The new Aspire V Nitro series features sixth generation Intel Core processors, aling with support for up to 32GB DDR4 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce graphics, and SATA III storage options. A new touchscreen option has been added to the Aspire V Nitro 15.
Black Editions of the Aspire V Nitro will also feature support for PCIe storage options, an alternative that promises even faster loading times. More importantly, this more premium option also offers support for Thunderbolt 3 which offers a variety of possibilities. Least of which includes the ability to output 4K video and 40Gbps transfer speeds.
On the other hand, the Aspire V 13 is powered by sixth generation Intel Core processors, Intel HD graphics, and up to 16GB DDR3L system memory. Unlike the V Nitro notebooks, the does not have a premium option and foregoes the extras like Thunderbolt 3 support.
The Acer Aspire V 17 Nitro be available in North America in October with prices starting at US$1,099 (about RM4637). While the Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro and Acer Aspire V 13 will be available in North America in October with prices starting at US$999 (about RM4215) and US$599 (about RM2527) respectively.
