honor has officially launched the honor 7 for the European market in London, United Kingdom. First unveiled a couple of months ago, this is one of the biggest launch event for the device outside of China. Even more importantly (for us Malaysians, that is), we have been told that the honor 7 is set to arrive in Malaysia as early as September.
When it was officially unveiled in China, as many as three variants of the honor 7 were introduced. For the European market, only the 16GB dual 4G variant will be available. While some consumers would prefer the bigger 64GB variant, there is still a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 128GB for those who need more space.
As a flagship device, the honor 7 is very well-equipped. It has a 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080 resolution IPS-NEO display, a HiSilicon Kirin 935 2.2GHz octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM, a 3,100mAh battery, and Emotion UI 3.1 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
Rounding out the hardware of the honor 7 are a 20MP rear camera with dual-tone flash, an 8MP front-facing shooter (also equipped with a flash), and a fingerprint sensor that honor claims is faster than Apple’s TouchID. It will be interesting to see if this is indeed the case.
The honor 7 will be available for purchase in the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, and Spain on the just launched European vMall site for 250 GBP (about RM1,610) immediately. As for us Malaysians, expect it to be made available sometime next month. After all, it has appeared on SIRIM.
Stay tuned for our hands on of the honor 7!
