A rather interesting Xiaomi smartphone has been spotted on TENAA, China’s equivalent of SIRIM. On the outside, it looks exactly like a Mi 4i. However, underneath the same plastic construction is a much beefier Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor rather than a mid-range Snapdragon 615 chipset.
Other than an upgraded processor, other specifications of the Mi 4c are the same as the Mi 4i. It still has a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 resolution IPS display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of non-expandable storage, a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing shooter, and Android 5.1.1 out of the box. This suggests that the Mi 4c will run on the company’s new MIUI 7.
Rounding out the specifications of this unannounced smartphone are LTE connectivity and a generous 3,100mAh battery. Looking back at the hardware, it’s rather odd as to why Xiaomi did not increase the amount of RAM of the Mi 4c. Seeing how it now has a more powerful Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB (or even 4GB) of RAM would’ve complemented the chipset well.
If you liked the Xiaomi Mi 4i’s design but desire more processing power, this is a smartphone to look out for. Here’s hoping Xiaomi will officially announce the Mi 4c soon with an affordable price tag.
