Hearthstone’s latest expansion now has a release date. The expansion brings 132 new cards with a couple of new mechanics that interact with Hero Powers and comparing minion costs. Blizzard has already spoiled all the cards due to arrive on 24 August, and is offering a new card back to celebrate The Grand Tournament.
Two new mechanics are being introduced in the new expansion. Inspiration interacts with Hero Powers in that the cards become better the more you use your power. These could be minions simply becoming cheaper to play, or could be something even more substantial like upgrading the power into something far more dangerous. On the other hand, Jousting allows cards to have additional effects after comparing the cost of random cards from your deck.
Blizzard is still running the pre-purchase offer for $50 (about RM205) for 50 packs; although the current exchange rate makes that look a lot less attractive than most people would like. With that in mind, the packs can still be bought for in-game gold when they are released for the regular price.
