They say when rumours don’t die, there is some truth to it. For months now, there has been word that popular US based video streaming service, Netflix will be making its way to this region soon. Based on a number of screenshots that has been making its rounds today, this could be sooner then most of us expected.
Both the Netflix app (if you’ve managed to download it), and the website usually give you a clear message that Netflix is not available in this region when you visit it. Obviously there are many workarounds to getting Netflix content to stream in Malaysia, but in the last couple of days, the message has changed from not available to Coming Soon.
Whether this is a Geo Location glitch, or if indeed Netflix are testing the service in Malaysia is anyone’s guess. Neither the Apple App Store or Google’s Play store has the Netflix app available in this region yet, but we have been told that Netflix have a planned rolled out for the service to an undisclosed list of ‘new regions’ in October.
We have reached out to Netflix, and will update this article once we get a response. Watch this space.
