Google has definitely been paying a lot of attention on its messaging service, Hangouts. Just last week, the company gave its Android app a Material Design makeover, and now, Google has a dedicated website for Google Hangouts.
Available at hangouts.google.com, the new site puts everything related to Hangouts in a single platform – instant messaging, voice calls and video chats. Just click on either one of the services on the buttons located in the middle of the screen, and Google will change the menu on the left accordingly. Google will change the background picture to “an inspiring image to get you through the day”.
As seen in the new Hangouts website, Google provides free voice calls in the U.S. Voice calling is available for Malaysia too, but you will be charged at 2 cents or 3 cents (RM0.08/RM0.12) per minute for landline and mobile numbers respectively. Video calls are free, but will consume data.
Of course, if you do not wish to open another website just for Google Hangouts, you can still use Hangouts within your Google+ page or even Gmail account.
Check out Hangouts website now to explore it yourself.
