Oppo Malaysia has just given the R1x a reasonable price cut. Previously retailing for RM1,398, it is now priced at RM1,198. If you’ve been eyeing for a sleek-looking mid-range Android smartphone, the R1x is worth a consideration, especially with this price cut.
Unveiled in China back in January 2015, what makes the R1x a particularly interesting device is its sapphire glass back, which seems to reflect light at various angles. Needless to say, this (and the addition of a metal frame) gives it a very premium appearance.
Hardware-wise, the Oppo R1x features a 5-inch 1280 x 720 resolution LTPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 1.5GHz octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable with a microSD card up to 128GB), 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras, and a 2,420mAh battery.
Rounding out the specifications are a 6.85mm thin body, dual-SIM support, LTE connectivity, and ColorOS 2.0.1 based on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. With the prices of electronics rising due to our weakening currency and GST, it’s nice to see a price cut once in a while from a manufacturer.
We were told by Oppo Malaysia that the R1x’s new retail price will be effective immediately. It can be purchased from Oppo concept stores and retail outlets throughout Malaysia for RM1,198.
