Back in June at Computex 2015, ASUS has unveiled plenty of new devices under its Zen series which was previously rather limited to notebooks and smartphones. One such device is ZenPad 7.0 – itself is just one of several ZenPad tablets that the Taiwanese company launched at the event.
According to specification sheet, the ZenPad 7.0 (Z370CG) is equipped with a 7-inch 1280×800 IPS display that is enhanced with what ASUS referred to as Tru2Life technology that apparently able to deliver better contrast, sharpness and detail. Comes standard with ZenUI on top of its Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, it is also powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom x3-C3230 64-bit quad-core processor which is part of the company’s SoFIA family.
While it varies from country to country, the ZenPad 7.0 comes with up to 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage. The same case applies for its camera as the tablet might come with either 5 or 8-megapixels auto-focus rear camera alongside 0.3 or 2-megapixels front camera.
The ZenPad 7.0 also comes with DTS-HD Premium Sound and Sonic Master enhancement that work with the tablet’s own front speaker and the optional ASUS Audio Cover. With a thickness of 8.7 mm, the 272 grams tablet is also equipped with a 13 Whr battery that apparently able to deliver up to 8 to 9 hours of battery life.
Design-wise, the ZenPad 7.0 is generally identical to the higher-end ZenPad 8.0 with a polished metal frame surrounding the front part of the tablet. There are no physical buttons on the front area of the tablet though as it utilizes on-screen navigational menus.
At the same time, the table also comes with a removable texturized back cover that helps to provide additional grip for the tablet. Once removed, users would be able to access the tablet’s microSD and micro SIM card slot are located. The tablet also features rounded edges and 72% screen-to-body ratio to complete its design package.
Even though the tablet might already on its way to Malaysia alongside ZenPad C 7.0 due to its appearance on SIRIM’s database, we have no knowledge of its pricing and availability in our market at the moment. That being said though, we expect that these information will be revealed at the ZenPad’s media preview session which will take place later today. So, stay tuned for that.
