Taking place in New York, Samsung has officially launched two new flagship Android smartphones – the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ – late last night. Given their aggressive 21 August availability date in its first wave, it has been confirmed that Malaysia will be one of the earliest markets to be getting the two phablets – as early as the end of this month.
Specifically, both the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge+ will be released either by the end of August or early September. Unfortunately, the representative was not able to confirm the exactly release date for both devices but nevertheless, we were assured that they will arrive in our shores no later than the first week of September.
Interestingly, the Galaxy Note 5 variant coming to Malaysia will be the dual-SIM version, supporting two nano SIM cards. A Samsung Malaysia representative stated that the dual-SIM configuration will not be a hybrid dual-SIM that supports a microSD card slot. While it is not uncommon in certain markets out there, this is indeed the first time that Samsung is going to release a flagship Galaxy smartphone with dual SIM setup in Malaysia. That said, we were not able to confirm if this will be the same for the Galaxy S6 edge+.
As expected though, the representative was not able to reveal the pricing for either of the new smartphones at the moment. For the time being, do check out our first hands on experience with the new Galaxy Note 5 right here as well as with the equally new Galaxy S6 edge+ right here for a closer look at the Samsung’s latest high-end smartphones.
