After announcing its arrival in Malaysia with the unveiling of the X5Pro, vivo seems to be gearing up to introduce two more devices here. These devices are namely the Y37 and Y31, which has appeared in SIRIM’s database.
Interestingly, only the Y37 is listed on vivo’s global site. The Y31, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to be an existing product. In fact, we can’t seem to find any information on the mysterious device, which is pretty odd. Chances are, the SIRIM certification is the first time the device has been listed anywhere.
Based on the details of the certification, we only know that the Y31 is a dual-SIM smartphone with 3G connectivity. It’s very likely to be an entry-level device, seeing how the device does not support LTE.
The Y37, on the other hand, have been detailed pretty extensively on vivo’s global site. It has a 5.5-inch 720p IPS display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable with a microSD card up to 128GB), a 2,720mAh battery, and Funtoush OS 2.1 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Oddly, the specification sheet of the device shows that the Y37 has a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, but the product info page states that it has an octa-core processor instead. Rounding out the hardware of the Y37 include a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing shooter, and LTE connectivity.
At this point in time, vivo has not sent us any information regarding these two devices yet. As the Y37 and Y31 have been certified by SIRIM, we suspect it won’t be long until we hear from the company.
