Honor Malaysia is teasing a small glimpse of a smartphone on its Facebook page. Chances are, its the company’s latest flagship: the Honor 7. Interestingly, a device with the model number “PLK-L01” has also made an appearance in SIRIM’s database, suggesting that the new device may be launched in Malaysia soon.
If it is indeed the Honor 7, it’s pretty quick of Honor Malaysia to bring it in. After all, it took the Honor 6 Plus about four months to reach our shores, whereas the Honor 7 has only been unveiled in June 2015. Malaysia could be one of the first few countries to receive Honor’s latest flagship smartphone.
In terms of hardware, the Honor 7 is very well-equipped. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a HiSilicon Kirin 935 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 16GB or 64GB of internal storage (expandable with a microSD card up to 128GB), a 3,100mAh battery, and Emotion UI 3.1 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
Rounding out the specifications are a 20MP rear camera, an 8MP front-facing snapper, a fingerprint sensor, fast charging support, 4G connectivity, and an all-metal construction. Seeing how the Honor 7 comes in three configurations, it will be interesting to see if the top-of-the-line 64GB model with dual-4G capability will be made available in Malaysia.
At the time of writing, we have not received any word from Honor Malaysia yet regarding the Honor 7. Chances are, we’ll be seeing a local launch of the company’s flagship device soon.
