Lenovo has wasted no time in announce its lineup of mobile workstations powered by the new sixth generation Intel Xeon processors. The ThinkPad P70 and P50 are aimed at professionals, and pack some hefty internals.
The ThinkPad P70 is a 17-inch, and supports up to 64GB of DDR4 ECC RAM. In addition to this it is able to handle up to four storage devices and up to 1TB of SSD storage; this includes using PCIe drives to increase capacity and data retrieval speeds. Two brand new Thunderbolt 3 ports will ensure that the ThinkPad P70 is capable of rapid data transfers, and the ability to output 4K video.
Unfortunately, Lenovo has revealed less about the ThinkPad P50. It is 15-inch laptop with a 4K display. That is all that the press release mentions, although it is likely to share most of the specifications of the P70.
Both these machines will be equipped with the new Intel Xeon Processor E3-1500M v5 product family, and feature NVIDIA Quadro GPUs . Lenovo has equipped the ThinkPad P50 and P70 with the brand new FLEX Performance Cooling system; sports a dual-fan design allows for cooler and quieter machine.
The new Lenovo P-series mobile workstations will be available in Q4 2015, with the P70 beginning at $1999 (about RM7946) and the P50 at $1599 (about RM6356).
