Remember the TENAA certification we saw featuring a Huawei Honor smartphone with a pop-up front camera? It looks like we might not have to wait too long to see it. The Chinese company recently teased about an “amazing” Honor device, which will be unveiled on 10 August 2015.
Of course, there’s no way to confirm that the teaser is indeed for the pop-up camera phone, ATH-AL00. However, judging from the image posted on Huawei Honor’s Weibo page, there’s a high possibility that it could indeed be the device.
The image shared by Honor is an animated GIF which starts off with an exclamation mark. The symbol will then turn around and the dot will turn into what looks like a camera shutter button, while the line could possibly hint at the pop-up mechanism. The accompanying text below the image hints at “more angles to explore”, while the caption for the post is about some “vision change”.
The Huawei smartphone we saw two days back looks like a typical smartphone, however, there is a pop-up mechanism for the front camera. This allows for Huawei to design a device with a slimmer bezel at the top, which looks great when paired with the edge-to-edge display.
The device is rumoured to be an upper mid-range smartphone, that features up to 4GB of RAM, fingerprint sensor, and will most likely be powered by Huawei’s very own Kirin chipset.
