Everyone’s favourite series of inspirational and motivational talks is coming around to KL once again. TEDxKL will be happening on 8 August, which is this Saturday, and will be featuring short speeches from a wide selection of specialists in their fields. Among them will be local comedian Afdlin Shauki,PEMANDU CEO Dato’ Sri Idris Jala, and the British High Commissioner to Malaysia Victoria Treadell.
For the uninitiated, TED talks were made popular due to the many different points of view that were brought up. These mainly served as a short explanation on anything from politics, to social science, to climate change, to economics. Shortly after TED began, individuals began organising TEDx events; which are independent talks not directly associated with TED, but follow the same format.
Nobody really knows what each of the presenters will speak about until their actual talk, but it can be expected to provide insights into each of the speakers professions. However, this year’s theme of Infinity & Beyond should provide a clue as to what will be happening at the Bukit Jalil Indoor Stadium this weekend.
