If you happen to be looking for a flash drive the size of a coin with a huge capacity of 128GB (we won’t ask why), then SanDisk’s latest offering is just for you. The company has just launched two new USB 3.0 flash drives in Malaysia: the extremely small 128GB Ultra Fit, and the more conventional 256GB Ultra.
Unveiled back at Computex 2015 in June, it didn’t take long for SanDisk to bring in these flash drives to our market. In any case, the Ultra Fit is a very, very small USB 3.0 flash drive that isn’t exactly ideal to be brought along everywhere like a conventional flash drive (unless you’re extremely careful to not misplace it).
According to SanDisk, the Ultra Fit is more suitable to expand the storage of your devices with its plug-and-stay design. After all, it’s much easier to locate the drive when it’s always plugged into a larger device. (Then again, no one’s stopping you from using it like a regular flash drive).
The SanDisk Ultra, on the other hand, looks just like any run-of-the-mill flash drive in the market. What differentiates it, however, is its huge capacity of 256GB. In terms of specification, the 128GB Ultra Fit and the 256GB Ultra flash drives have a transfer speed of up to 130MB/s and 100MB/s respectively. The write speed of both products, however, are not specified.
Both the SanDisk 128GB Ultra Fit and 256GB Ultra USB 3.0 flash drives are now available from authorised retailers in Malaysia. They are priced at RM239 and RM439 respectively and come with a five-year warranty. More information on the Ultra Fit and Ultra flash drives can be found here and here respectively.
