While Microsoft has been promoting the free Windows 10 upgrade to existing Windows 7 and 8.1 users for the past few months, there are some users out there that might need to purchase the operating system separately. Such users include D-I-Y system builders or users that want to install Windows 10 into their Mac products as the second operating system.
If you find yourself to be part of this user group, you can look forward to grab your hands on the boxed version at retail stores in Malaysia on 10 August.
This was confirmed by Gunter Weimer, General Manager for Windows and Surface of Microsoft APAC during a media session with Malaysian journalists at Windows 10 regional launch event in Singapore yesterday. We were made to understand that the boxed version of the operating system will be released in two variants: one contains just online product key where users need to download the operating system separately while the other one comes with USB flash drive.
How about the pricing then? Well, the official Malaysian pricing for the boxed version of Windows 10 is not yet known at this moment. That being said though, we are going to discuss about that in subsequent post shortly.
