In case you missed the notice, we are now hours away from the official roll out day of Windows 10 which is scheduled to take place tomorrow, 29 July. While it is true that not everyone will get the new operating system on the first day it goes into the market, some users have already received the installer inside their PC.
In fact, we found them inside two of our own PCs that are running on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 Pro Build 10240 (surprise, surprise) respectively. Located inside a folder called $Windows.~BT in the C: drive, there are a collection of files and folders including a Setup.exe file with 10.0.10240.16384 listed as its file version.
We have no problem running the Setup file but somehow, an error (as shown above) would pop up once we click on the “Install Now” button. Well, nothing abnormal there since it is not yet 29 July here in Malaysia but nevertheless, don’t be surprised if a notification pops up in your machine stated that it is ready to be installed with Windows 10 because technically, the files are already there indeed.
