Mechanical keyboard enthusiasts, you might be interested in Logitech’s new tenkeyless (TKL) mechanical keyboard, the G310 Atlas Dawn. Unlike other mechanical keyboards in the market (which typically use Cherry MX switches), the G310 uses its own Romer-G switches which are “faster than competing switches”.
While Cherry MX switches have always been the choice of many manufacturers, Logitech’s Romer-G switches are pretty interesting. With an actuation point of 1.5mm, the company claims that the Romer-G switches can receive inputs 25% faster than its competition. Logitech also mentioned that its switches can stand up to 70 million keystores, which is said to be up to 40% more than competing switches.
Other than that, the G310 Atlas Dawn also has central backlighting, which ensures that the keycaps are illuminated evenly. This should help with the aesthetics of the mechanical keyboard, although its aggressive design language (typical of a gaming product) might not be for everyone.
Interestingly, the G310 also has Logitech’s Arx Control integrated into it. It is basically an app for your Android or iOS device that works with the Logitech Gaming Software. It allows your device to “display in-game information, vital system statistics and more.” The G310 also has a dedicated dock to place your device while you are accessing the app.
The Logitech G310 Atlas Dawn will be available in Malaysia from August 2015 onwards. It will retail for RM499 inclusive of GST. More information on the mechanical keyboard can be found here.
