Xiaomi has scheduled an event for Thursday in China, and based on the teasers it has released so far, it looks like the Chinese company is ready to release the next version of its successful Mi TV.
The China tech giant has released several teases on its Weibo page to its fan in China, showing glimpses of its next product. While rumours are getting louder of an imminent announcement of the Mi 5, Mi 5 Plus and also a new Redmi Note 2, it looks like this event may be too soon for all three devices. Instead, it may be the rather surprising announcement of the new Mi TV 3.
Currently, there are three teasers posted on Xiaomi’s Weibo page, all of which seem to indicate a larger product: a small power plug, slim metal bezels, and a slim side profile. What makes things more interesting is when you take a look at the Twitter feed of Donovan Sung, Xiaomi’s Director of Product Management, where more tantalising teasers can be found, but with even less certainty of what will actually be launched.

Xiaomi’s got a history of releasing a variety of products that aren’t just limited to what we usually associate Xiaomi with. In China, Xiaomi has dabbled in smart home appliances, including an air purifier and even a smart air conditioner. Given its history of new product ventures, and even the interesting tagline of “innovation starts from the beginning”, we can never be too sure of what Xiaomi’s up to.
Perhaps you can decipher what product will be launched?
